an irony of fate, right before being killed in a road accident, he won the Villa de Aoiz International Poetry Competition in 2004 with the poem <em>When nothing matters any more<\/em>.<\/h4>\n<p>Most of the time in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ie.edu\/IE\/site\/php\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IE<\/a> China Center\u2019s blog <a href=\"http:\/\/josefelixvaldivieso.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">On China and Other Niceties<\/a> I write about China, but just as we can\u2019t eat <a href=\"http:\/\/josefelixvaldivieso.com\/let-me-tell-you-your-favourite-dish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">our favorite dish<\/a> every day, to hell with China this time, and instead here\u2019s a nicety as defined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oxford English Dictionary<\/a>: \u201cthe small details or points of difference, especially concerning the correct way of behaving or of doing things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On June 14, while enjoying a coffee together, my colleague <a href=\"https:\/\/es.linkedin.com\/in\/soledadmiron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Soledad Mir\u00f3n<\/a> told me the story of the renowned poet Andr\u00e9s Mir\u00f3n, who was killed in a road accident two days before winning the <a href=\"http:\/\/andresmiron.blogspot.com\/2013\/09\/cuando-ya-nada-importa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Villa de Aoiz International Poetry Competition<\/a> in 2004. In an irony of fate, the poem that earned him the prize was called <em><a href=\"http:\/\/andresmiron.blogspot.com\/2013\/09\/cuando-ya-nada-importa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">When nothing matters any more<\/a><\/em>. His death brought an illustrious career to an end, with more than 30 collections of poetry <a href=\"http:\/\/andresmiron.blogspot.com\/p\/obra-literaria.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a>, along with numerous <a href=\"http:\/\/andresmiron.blogspot.com\/p\/premios.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prizes<\/a>.
